Branches of the Femoral Artery

The purpose of this illustration was to clearly show the location of the femoral artery and the major branches that supply the thigh area. This also involved the study of line techniques using digital pen and ink media. The skeletal structure including both the femur and a portion of the pelvic bone were drawn. The process involved reading about the femoral artery and its relation to the surrounding anatomy. Understanding what the major branches supplied was also important for sketching their location and where they were going to be located. The general placement of the eyelash lines were sketched out in pencil first/ The final render was completed in Adobe Photoshop.
